Blog Post Title One

We have all heard this said before....and it is true. Change is constant. The challenge is to navigate that change without losing your Sh%t. I find this especially challenging in the world of tech.

I am, and have been navigating and changing how I do things and the platforms that I use online to get my message out, to book clients in, to organize my files. It is very tempting to burn it all to the ground and start over...and yet that would mean losing some very valuable content, connections and sources. So I am trying to go slow, figure out what works for me and what doesn't, what will be simplest for my clients, and streamline things so I am not wasting time looking for that dam PDF I said I would send, or the contract I need someone to sign, and the list goes on.

Funny, running our lives and our relationships and our businesses are all very similar at their base, aren't they? I think we all would prefer simple to complicated in our lives, business and relationships, right? I don't think I am wrong...and yet we are usually the ones who complicate it. When changes show up, we just on the next train that has new gadgets, improved ways, and new sparkles/shiny objects (fill in your own word for distraction). What we really need to do, id keep the main thing, the main thing. And when new shiny objects arrive on our lap (tops), take a moment before jumping in and ask: Is this going to help me move forward in my life/business/relationship or is this going to distract me more than help me? Some of the time it is necessary to learn the new thing or take the time to adapt to the new thing...and sometimes it really is just a distraction and a way for the noisy world to get your attention.

I have cut back my to do list, my to learn list, and have promised myself "no more courses" at least until the end of this year. I have so many that I haven't even gotten through, but in the heat of the moment, yes I really wanted that "grow your email list", "start your own podcast" "Be a better coach" "How to homestead and buy land without your own money" "how to write better copy" "How to write a book that sells"....lol just to name a few (ahem* she says hiding behind her face when she actually writes all of these down!!) And here is a juicy one that my coach gave me permission on. "Laurel, if the course isn't what you want or need, you actually don't have to finish it!"......WHAAAAAT? Yes, in working towards simplifying, I have dropped books that I am not getting what I thought I would get out of them, have picked specific chapters out of courses and books, and dropped the guilt and realized it is not out of integrity for me to do that (ooofff that is a tough one for a recovering perfectionist, with integrity on their list of values kind of gal)

So...here is the question to you: In our ever evolving and changing world, what are you going to give yourself permission to NOT change, or change at your own dam pace?

Here is another question: What could you simplify?

What I find curious is that I can help others simplify amazingly well (it is one of my superpowers, if I could be so bold to state, and yet I have trouble doing that for myself. I guess that is why I value my coach so much! She helps keep me on track to navigate change and keep the main thing the main thing (whatever I choose for that to be!)

In my simplification...I have moved my website to a place where I can connect, share, book people in and all the things so that it can be simple and easy for both my clients and for me...the stretch is the learning of new things, and I am taking my sweet dam time! So, thank you for your patience as I navigate all the things. I hope you give yourself some grace and space around things like this as well!

Much love!

Want to learn more about how to work with me? Send me a message! I do 1:1 coaching, group facilitation, and very excited to be opening the doors to a Female Business Women's Mastermind (starting in January 2025). This is geared towards the wellness industry, AND any women who provide service to others (so basically if you are a female business owner, lead or CEO). This is a great space to get support from other women in business. We often feel isolated when in business or manage a team...this is a great place to strategize, validate and support each other!

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
